The sector of patent information under the A. P. Chekhov Central City Public Library was arranged in 1965. In 2000 thi sector was rearranged into the Economic Information and Patent Information Department. Since 2004 the A. P. Chekhov CCPL has become a participant of the Programme to design the All-Russian System of Public Centres of Legal Information, and the departmeent has been renamed. And now it is the Centre of Legal and Economic Information.
THE STOCK AND RESOURCES:
· The stock is completed with the domestic specifications of inventions and patents (dated since 1924) on data medium and with trade marks (dated since 2000).
· The most complete reference and legal data systems of the Garant and ConsultantPlus types.
· The full-text electronic resources, provided by the organizations:
- Rubicon – access to the complete electronic versions of the most important encyclopedias and dictionaries published in Russi.
- Internet-library of the means of mass media – the archive materials of the Russian editions are represented since 1990.
- “IVIS” PLC -a unique collection of the full-text and bibliographical databases of the periodical editions of Russia.
- Electronic-library system IPRbooks – it is an access to the full-text books and magazines in electronic forms.
The Department services:
· Searching the necessary information on economics, law, and intellectual property;
· Searching patents through the published, priority and application materials and provisining data on publications of the Russian Federationtitles of protection;
· Preparing application materials of subjects of intellectual property;
· Making complex topic inquiries by means of theInternet search tools;
· Making inquiries by means of the electronic delivery of documents (EDD);
· Freelegal counseling on matters of civil law;
· Xerox copying, printing out texts, scanning documents.
