The sector (founded in 1997) of spending spare time of the great mass of the city population gave rise to the origin of the Centre of Cultural Programmes of the A. P. Chekhov Central City Public Library (CCPL). The status of the Department the sectorhad acquired in 2007.
The principal direction of the
Centre’s work has always been and remainhas remained a cultural-enlightening
activity: popularization of the A. P. Chekhov’s works heritage; arranging
events relating to the history of Russia and the native region; atracting the
young people of the city to take part in the activities; organizing the creative
amateurs of theatre to give theatrical performancesin the city of Taganrog, and
charity actions.
TheConcert-ExhibitionHallisoneofthemostfavouriteplacesofthecityphoto-designers,
masters of painting and applied arts, musicians, poets, writers, and youth
creative associations.
The concerts, exhibitions and shows
of newly-published books, book fairs, meetings with writers, and literary
solons and readings are very popular among the population of the city.
There are eight workers of the
Department to render all the assistances and carry out functions.
The Centre of Cultural Programmes of
the A. P. Chekhov CCPL invites everybody to collaborate with usand all who is
